Top Ten Tuesday: Top Eleven New-to-me Authors I Read in 2014

Well, you know me, I love to try out all the memes. I've seen this one around for ages and I think I tried it once before and stopped. But trying it again. Yay! Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

Top Ten Eleven New-To-Me Authors Read in 2014:

1. Maria Rutkoski - The Winner's Curse - 4 stars
I really enjoyed this one and can't wait to read The Winner's Crime in 2015!

2. Lindsay Smith - Sekret - 4 stars
This one was really cool because it was set in Russia, which isn't exactly common in YA books. Can't wait for book 2 in 2015

3. Kelley Armstrong - Sea of Shadows - 4 stars
Yep, I read my first Kelley Armstrong book in 2014. Don't worry, there's 5 more on my shelf!

4. Gennifer Albin - Crewel - 4 stars
Finally got around to reading this one. Now to finish the series...

5. Jaclyn Dolamore - Dark Metropolis - 4 stars
I didn't know what to expect with this one, but I ended up really enjoying it.

6. Livia Blackburne - Midnight Thief - 4 Stars
I've seen mixed reviews on this one, but I liked it!

7. Mary E. Pearson - The Kiss of Deception - 4 Stars
Mixed reviews here too. Again, I liked it, even with the love triangle crap.

8. Alecia Whitaker - Wildflower - 4 Stars
A contemporary made the list. Wow!

9. Kym Brunner - Wanted: Dead or In Love - 4 Stars
Boonie & Clyde + Ghost Possession = Very Cool

10. Caragh M. O'Brien - The Vault of Dreamers - 4 Stars
Mysteries and Conpirarcies and an ending I totally didn't understand.

11. R. C. Lewis - Stitching Snow - 4 Stars
YA Sci-fi for the win!

Yep, I just had to sneak that #11 in there. To be honest, I went by my star ratings and I had 11 books by new-to-me authors that I gave 4 stars, No 5 stars though! Weird.

Tope Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Favorite Books I Read Before I Was A Blogger

Hello and welcome to my 2nd Top Ten Tuesday. Hooray! Thanks to The Broke and the Bookish for hosting.

This week's list is of my top ten favourite books I read before I was a blogger.

1. Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling! I'm going to lump this one all together, since otherwise it would overwhelm my list.

2. Tithe by Holly Black. Tithe was my introduction to gritty YA urban fantasy. And Faeries!

3. The Belgariad by David Eddings. Probably my favourite high fantasy series.

4. Dealing With Dragons by Patricia C. Wrede. Hello, talking dragons!

5. City of Bones/City of Ashes/City of Glass by Cassandra Clare. These books are amazing, what more can I say? Not so much book 4. Should have ended after City of Glass!

6. Anne of Green Gables by L. M. Montgomery. I remember my dad reading Anne to me when I was probably 6 years old and it's still stuck with me as one of my very favourites.

7. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. I remember being introduced to the Hunger Games while on a camping trip. My friend could barely stop reading to go hiking or roast marshmallows!

8. A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle. I read this one for my grade 5 novel study and immediately fell in love with the series.

9. Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer. He was my first book boyfriend, so he obviously makes the list.

10. The Zombie Survival Guide by Max Brooks. Because survival is important for a zombie nut like me!

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Characters I Would Crush On If I Were Also A Fictional Character

Sourse: The Broke and the Bookish

I'm probably becoming fairly infamous for my meme-hopping, but I've decided to try out the Top Ten Tuesday meme by The Broke and the Bookish. Yay! This week is a fun one: Top Ten Characters I Would Crush On If I Were Also A Fictional Character. Yikes! Here we go...

1. Artemis Fowl from the Artemis Fowl series by Eoin Colfer

Artemis Fowl was my very first book boyfriend when I was around 11 years old. Wicked smart, super rich and carrying a sexy accent. Who cares that he's a criminal mastermind right? That only added to his charm. I'm (mostly) grown out of this one, but I'll always have a soft spot for old Arty!

2. Silk from The Belgariad by David Eddings

Wow, Silk definitely swept me off my feet in this one. He's sneaky and tricky, but ultimately I believe he's a good person. Plus,Mr. Eddings through in a tragic scene to make me love him even more! Maybe he will teach fictional me some fancy trading/swindling tricks and I can spend my days traveling the world making excellent trades with my sneaky little Drasnian!

3. Four from the Divergent Trilogy by Veronica Roth

Who didn't love Four in this one. So very badass, yet also protective and all-around awesome.

4. Oliver Wood from the Harry Potter series by J. K. Rowling

So I totally had a thing for Oliver Wood while reading the books and then when the movies came out, well let me tell you! Although now watching the movies I feel a bit like a creeper...

5. Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

My. Darcy! Who doesn't love this snobby pile of hot stuff?!

6. Raffe from Angelfall by Susan Ee

So I'd totally have a major secret crush on him at the same time as not trusting him at all.

7. Archer from the Hex Hall series by Rachel Hawkins

Ok, so I haven't read book three yet, but even after book 2, I still have a crush on him.

8. Bram from Gone With the Respiration series by Lia Habel

He may be dead, but he's still sexy!

9. Adam Brewer from the Frost Chronicles by Kate Avery Ellison

Adam is super mysterious (like secret agent mysterious!) and I like it!

10.  Gideon de Villiers from the Ruby Red Trilogy by Kerstin Gier

Gideon would be the guy I had a crush on and totally hated myself for it. He has it all going on: good looks, money, annoying arrogant attitude. Yep, he'd be the secret crush I'd never tell anyone about.
