I totally agree that the German cover is less cluttered, but somehow I prefer the US one. It just gives off that steampunk-ish feel, which I totally adore.
Oh, I do adore both!! I just like illustrated MG covers in general. But I think I'm with you, I'm leaning a bit more towards the German because I also really love colour ^^
Both covers have their pros and cons, but I think the German version is more representative of the actual story, so that'd be my pick. Still, the US one has a certain Steampunk feel to it which I like.
Definitely more colorful but really, they both are great!
